Konverents “Baltics’ Opportunity to Become Data Economy Leaders in EU”

24. märts 2021

24. märtsil kell 11.00–13.40 toimub virtuaalsel üritus "BALTIC'S OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME DATA ECONOMY LEADERS IN EU", mille kaaskorraldajaks on ITL ja kus esinejatena osalevad ka meie liikmed.

Miks ootame just teie asutuse esindajaid osalema?

Riigiasutused: Avaliku sektori käes on palju andmeid, mille kättesaadavaks ja kasutatavaks tegemise korral saaksid eraettevõtted luua uusi teenuseid; oluline on teada, millised on EL ülesed algatused (nagu GAIA-X), mis võivad Eesti poliitikate kujundamist mõjutada.

Erialaliidud: Ettevõtetes on palju andmeid, mille tark kasutus aitaks efektiivsust ja tootlikkust tõsta ning rahvusvaheliselt konkurentsis olla.

IKT-sektor: andmemajandus on IKT ettevõtete tuleviku äri ja piiriülene koostöö antud valdkonnas loob uusi ärivõimalusi.

Üritusel osalemine on tasuta.

We would like to kindly invite you to join the conference “BALTIC’S OPPORTUNITY TO BECOME DATA ECONOMY LEADERS IN EU”, which will take place on March 24 at 11:00 a.m. EET (10:00 a.m. CET).

The event will count with the participation of:
Andres Sutt, Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology of Estonia
Artūrs Toms Plešs, Minister of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of Latvia
Eglė Markevičiūtė, Vice-Minister at the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania
Casper Klynge, Vice President – Microsoft European Government Affairs
Indrek Õnnik, Global Affairs Director at Government CIO Office, Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications
Ieva Ilves, Adviser to the President of Latvia for Information and Digital Policy
Rimantas Žylius, Lithuanian Prime Minister’s Advisor on Digital Transformation, Open Data, Public Procurement and their leverage on industrial policies.
Sussane Dehmel, Managing Director and Member of Executive Board at Bitkom

The event will bring together prominent figures from the Baltic political and business community to discuss the recent developments in the data economy, its multiple opportunities but also potential challenges, such as data localization. Many policy initiatives have been put forward at European level in relation with the digital economy (e.g. the GAIA-X, the European Cloud Federation, the Data Governance Act or the European Data Spaces). How will these new policies benefit or affect the Baltics in their ambitions for economic growth against the setback caused by the Pandemic and what actions are needed so that the three countries are better positioned in the growing data economy?

The business leaders and policymakers from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania will address these issues in an attempt to respond to this – and many other – questions during the event with a clear aim of echoing our voice in Europe.
The conference will be organized around three different discussion groups, where relevant stakeholders will intervene, and expert teams will conduct the discussion with the aim of coming up with concrete positions and proposals. The discussion groups will focus on the following topics – GAIA-X Hub, Data Economy and Data Sovereignty.
