The goal of the work: to advise Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunication (ITL) members on research and development (R&D) topics, coordinate ITL innovation activities and increase cooperation between companies and education and research institutions. Tasks: Increasing the readiness of ITL members to implement R&D activities: identifying the R&D

The goal of the work:

  • to advise Estonian Association of Information Technology and Telecommunication (ITL) members on research and development (R&D) topics, coordinate ITL innovation activities and increase cooperation between companies and education and research institutions.

Tasks:

Increasing the readiness of ITL members to implement R&D activities:

  • identifying the R&D needs of ITL member companies, mapping important R&D activities (in 3-5 years’ perspective) and coordinating the search for large-scale R&D solutions;
  • having an overview of R&D activities of ITL member companies, coordinating the cooperation and exchange of experience between the members of the association and companies of other economic sectors, including business associations;
  • providing necessary input for the coordination of sectoral R&D activities and for better linking research and education activities with business;
  • representing the sector in international R&D initiatives, partnerships and creating cooperation opportunities for companies in these frameworks (Horizon Europe, etc.);
  • raising the awareness of companies about various R&D initiatives and international partnership projects, support opportunities, etc .;
  • continuous co-operation with higher education institutions on the quality of curricula and research directions and topics;
  • management of the R&D and innovation domain.

Requirements to the candidate:

  • at least a master’s degree;
  • experience of sectoral research and development activities or knowledge of this domain;
  • knowledge of companies in the sector;
  • knowledge of the ICT research and education system is beneficial;
  • previous experience in preparing R&D funding applications and project implementation is beneficial.

Date of employment: 01.01.2021 (position is for a fixed term)

Workload: part-time or full-time
